Good, Challenging game

I really dont mind the ads, most of time its not a video. But I think the gameplay matters most. I have almost every single 3D Sonic game and I have never played a 2D one before. All I have to say is that this game is very hard the first time playing. The Metal Sonic fight was ridiculous but the final fight with Robotnik is pretty easy. The levels are very challenging and rage inducing. But I personally love a challenging game, as long as its not near impossible.
