Sonic CD Classic App Reviews

Ok, so I think Sonic CD is an overall great game. I like the improvements that Christian Whitehead and his team added. I wouldve given this a 5 star rating if it werent for the ads. Its not the ads themselves that annoys me, its the fact that I bought the game a few years ago when there werent ads and the app wasnt free. Now I do have ads even though I already paid for it.

Ive always loved Sonic games since I was a kid. They would always bring thrill and excitement into my gaming life! I love this Sonic CD port for the iOS. It runs smoothly, has great graphics and theres little to no lag whatsoever. Unfortunately, sometimes the audio doesnt work. I tried almost everything, but the only thing that worked was resetting my iPhone. And it still constantly misses the audio. Please fix this!

While this game is really good and a true throw back, I would really appreciate it if the d-pad was bigger or if you gave us the option to make it bigger or smaller on our own. I dont like that when I fight Eggman, I keep pressing down, instead of the the side (I play using thumbs).

Nothing like non-stop unskippable 30 seconds ads to ruin a classic. Boot up the game, you get an ad. Start the game, you get an ad. Finish a level, you get an ad. Couldnt be any more intrusive, it completely ruins the game.

I absolutely love this game,but the volume you cant hear it so if you guys can fix it please. :)

This game is not updated to fit current iPhone screens. Dont look for one soon from the scammers that will not update Sonic 4. There are lots of good iOS games, boycott SEGA until they honor peoples purchases!!!!!

Try making Sonic 3&Knuckles and Blue Sphere!

I love it i love all sonic games! When i got the game i playd all of it and it was great! and i was so happy that you can be tails when you beet the game! and I think there can still be a 2nd one i hope you can make it plz!!!!!!!!!!!! Its the best!:)

Finally fixed screen issue on 6 plus and it looks glorious! A mobile platform game masterpiece!

It was always fantastic, when I had my iPhone 5, to be able to get it out and play this game anywhere. When I upgraded to the iPhone 6 Plus, I, like a lot of other people, discovered that we were shortchanged when it came to app support. Its great to finally see these games being optimized for the newer devices and still remaining the great games theyve always been! The fantastic thing about the modern take on Sonic CD is the great amount of extra content added to the game. Tails can be unlocked as a playable character, for one! On top of that, your preferred version of the soundtrack, whether it be the Japanese or American, are both included for you to choose from. If thats not enough, then did you ever feel like the spin dash was inferior in this game as opposed to other Sonic games? Well, now you can choose whether to play using the spin dash from Sonic CD, or the original that you know and love! There are other extras on top of those, but Ill leave them for you to discover.

...the update took WAY too long to be released. All this time, users have been sitting around with broken versions of PAID software. Shame on you, SEGA :(

Since the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus came out, this game was not supported on these devices and was not playable whatsoever. Today 04/29/15, the sonic franchise 1, 2 and CD are now playable. Almost 7 months later. Pretty lazy and not up to par. Of course I lost all my data upgrading. I remember a big upgrade warned that would happen because it was completely re-written, so that was okay, but again today. It really wants to make you not play anymore when you cant play for almost a whole year and then have to start over, AGAIN. The game itself is 5 stars for being a classic, but SEGA needs to stop being so lazy and upgrade their games. They have literally not upgraded some of their games since they came out and maybe some bug fixes back in 2009. The Sonic Spinball game is also grossly neglected. Please optimize for iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and iPad Air 2. It looks horribly blurry and slow. Please and thank you, sincerely a devoted fan who still has all the SEGA consoles and most of the games they have ever put out. PS. Please make a Sonic and Knuckles 3 Game and update it eventually. Thank you again!

SERIOUSLY LOVE THE CARE YOUR PUTTING INTO SONIC CD! Thanks for updating it to support the 6 plus. Looks amazing! Love this developer and one of the best sonic games ever.

Updated 4/29/15 - Thanks Sega for finally updating the game to work on iPhone 6 Plus. And an even bigger THANKS to Christian Whitehead for making the game possible in the first place. (I retracted my original review since the flaws have now been corrected with the latest update.)

I know it should be 99 cents but trust me with a controller its freakin awesome. This is way better than the original version, with Bluetooth controller and Bluetooth speaker is an awesome experience.

Where are the vocals for "You can do anything" and "Believe in yourself" in the Japanese/ European soundtrack?

An amazing Sega CD game, still amazing on iOS.
